  • Canada

    St. Thomas, Ontario, is in the Southwestern part of Ontario near the City of London. St. Thomas is the future home of PowerCo’s flagship North America EV battery production giga-facility.

  • Germany

    Salzgitter, Germany is the first VW PowerCo battery hub including a battery recycling pilot plant and a battery cell development lab. The Center of Excellence (CoE) Battery Cell research lab will employ over 1000 people.

  • Spain

    Sagunto in Valencia, Spain has been chosen by Volkswagen PowerCo as the location for its second battery cell factory in Europe. Gigafactory Valencia will start production of unified cells in 2026 and will directly employ more than 3,000.

Overview

Our current locations reflect the presence of three Volkswagen/PowerCo vehicle battery production facilities. This initial focus will not restrict other regions in the electric mobility ecosystem from participating in the TEVT initiative. Please consider the following three country regions as your early partners in electric mobility.
